Dropple, un’indagine sulla visualizzazione interattiva e sociale di informazioni
Lo scorso 22 Aprile ho presentato, davanti alla commissione di laurea di Comunicazioni Visive e Multimediali dell’Università IUAV di Venezia, il progetto della mia tesi in interaction design: Dropple.
Consiste in un’applicazione web interattiva che mostra e presenta i dati statistici relativi all’uso e al consumo d’acqua all’interno del contesto domestico. L’intento è quello di spingere le persone a prendere coscienza delle proprie abitudini, stili di vita, del loro impatto sul mondo e la società, e fornire suggerimenti su come agire di conseguenza.
È un servizio pensato per la gente comune sia per quanto riguarda lo sviluppo della parte grafica sia per il trattamento dei contenuti; i suoi punti di forza vogliono essere la semplicità e l’immediatezza d’uso grazie all’uso di una visualizzazione chiara, di una interazione spontanea e di un tono emozionale coinvolgente.

Everyday we are overwhelmed by a huge amount of data, nevertheless we can not perceive them all and most information are lost.
Information Visualization (InfoVis) can help people to find, to select, to interpret and to understand these information in an effective way.
Through my thesis project I would like to design an interactive web application which shows world statistics about the water crisis issue in a thought-provoking manner to help audience to better understand and reason about the problem. At the same time this tool tries to raise awarness on people providing them a framework for monitoring and analysing their life styles, and their impact on society on a simple way, and to help them to change their behaviour.

Hello world! From now to April 2009 I will try to develop the last (but absolutely not least) work at IUAV University: my thesis!
During these months (almost a year) I would like to create and design an interctive software that helps people to search images inside big databases and archives. The research will be done not by tags, dates or names, but through elements linked to the perception of an image like colors, shapes, patterns, lights and shadows…
